Introduced the bank to the concept of Internet financial services in
1994. At this time, First Interstate was one of the largest US banks,
with a network of over one thousand branch offices in 14 US states.
Assembled and managed a team of contractors through the design,
development and hosting of the bank's initial two generations of WWW
sites, including one of the earliest bank sites to offer secure online
account applications. Also served as the principal project consultant
for the design and implementation of the bank's Internet home banking
service, a major development project involving IBM, AOL, and the bank's
advertising agency. Also, assisted in related electronic commerce
analysis and product development, including Internet credit card
acceptance and EDI services. Represented the bank to the Silicon
Valley-based CommerceNet consortium, serving on the steering committee
and in the Payments and EDI working groups.
In 1996, First Interstate was
acquired by Wells Fargo Bank.
